Giving and receiving feedback in the workplace can be really hard and it gets even harder when you become responsible for the work of other people, not just your own.
As a leader you might avoid difficult conversations for fear of provoking a negative reaction. After all there's a multitude of other companies that will welcome your frustrated co-workers with open arms, should they decide they do not appreciate your efforts at improving them.
On the other hand if you want to grow your own career you need to learn to not only accept, but to actively seek out honest feedback about yourself.
